Payette Planning & Community Development

The mission of the Planning and Zoning Department is to improve the quality of life for residents and workers in our community through comprehensive long-range land use planning. We are committed to fostering a balanced mix of agricultural, residential, commercial, and industrial development within the City, aiming to create a sustainable environment that enhances Payette’s unique character and overall quality of life.

Planning and Zoning meetings are typically held on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM. To ensure compliance with publishing and notification requirements, we encourage submitting applications as early as possible. Building Department

Welcome to the City of Payette’s Building Department. Our goal is to assist you efficiently and responsibly throughout your construction project. The Building Inspector ensures that residential, commercial, and industrial developments comply with all applicable codes through thorough inspections.

 

The Building Department is responsible for:

  • Conducting building construction inspections to ensure that projects are being built in accordance with building code and specified approvals.
  • Issuing building permits
  • Issuing certificate of occupancy permits
  • Reviewing building plans
  • Working directly with the Planning and Zoning Commission on developmental projects
  • Reviewing building permit applications and processing permit requests.
  • Providing information to the general public on codes and regulations.

 

If you're attempting to apply for a mechanical, plumbing, or electrical permit you'll need to apply through the Department of Occupational and Professional Licenses website. The DOPL link is featured at the bottom of this page.
