Stage One of Downtown Revitalization Begins in Bancroft Park

The City of Payette is excited to announce that Stage One of our Downtown Revitalization is now underway, beginning in Bancroft Park. This first phase includes the installation of new public restrooms, a splash pad, and a paved area designed to accommodate mobile food trucks—key features aimed at enhancing community use and activity in the area.

This effort is part of a broader plan to revitalize Downtown Payette through thoughtful planning and design. The Downtown Revitalization Plan will serve as a guide for future development and improvements, using policies, guidelines, and illustrations that reflect the community’s vision for a vibrant and welcoming downtown destination.

The planning process was carried out in close collaboration with the community. A series of public workshops, held beginning in February 2022, helped shape the vision and priorities for Downtown based on direct community input.

As this project moves forward, Downtown Payette will become an even more vital gathering space—both as a hub for local residents and a symbolic heart of the entire Payette area—strengthening the City’s commitment to enhancing quality of life for all.
