Wastewater Treatment Plant Saves The City of Payette $39,217.86

The City of Payette recently installed VFDs on their (6) 60hp surface aerators to better control their wastewater treatment process. Previously, the City ran these motors at full load all year round but now can ramp the motors based on dissolved oxygen

levels and required mixing throughout the year. The installation of these VFDs resulted in energy savings of 217,877 kWh per year. This is enough energy savings to reduce the City's electric bill by almost $18,000 and is the equivalent of powering 20 homes per year.
